御機嫌よぅ~ Greetings to you all!

Hi there and welcome to my first attempt to really blog about things.

I’m a student of modern Japanese society and culture, so naturally the main focus will be on stuff that I come into contact with concerning my two major interests Japan (especially folklore and popular culture) and literature. There will be small book reviews, opinions about games or funny stuff I come across while travelling. But there also will be times when I will want to write about random stuff I came across and found interesting. I will try to make it apparent by the headline what the post will be about, so you don’t have to read through everything.

I’m from Germany, currently studying in Düsseldorf, so naturally English isn’t my first language. Still I want as many people as possible to read this blog, so I hope you can excuse sudden lapses or small mistakes. There will be times where I want to try and write bilingual, but that would be English – Japanese, one part because I want to train, the other because there will be some entries I want some buddies to read.

日本語はまだまだから、間違ったところを教えるの事、遠慮しないでね。 (;⊿;)

So, feel free to check in whenever I post new stuff, I hope I can keep it on a regular basis when classes start again. Oh, and in case you asked yourself how this guy could look like, sit back and try not to scream, here’s a picture taken especially for this very first post.

In the middle between young....and not

In the middle between young ....and not

Now there should be nothing left to say except,

See you Next Entry
